Our Client is searching for an Industry leader to be apart of its estimation management in its Electrical unit here in South Australia. A Level 3 Senior Estimator is autonomously responsible for calculating, preparing and submitting proposals which include those for complex projects and new customers.
The position evaluates the commercial potential of large contracts and conceptualises the scope of the project.
A Senior Estimator is expected to mentor and assist Levels 1 and 2 Estimators and identify areas for improvement in standard quotation processes.

Reporting to the Estimating Manager you will be:

Accountable to the Estimation Manager for producing accurate, competitive and profitable proposals and for assisting in the development of Estimation Department staff.

Responsible for participating as a member of the Estimation team and contributing to a working environment that rewards learning and achievement and is based upon technical excellence, teamwork, mutual respect and trust.

Responsible to the Group Business & Project Manager(s) for providing accurate information and cost proposals on automation projects within agreed deadlines.

Responsible to the project management team for working as a productive member prior to proposal acceptance.

Key Requirements for the Position:

Holds an Electrical Workers Registration (SA) or state equivalent AND holds Post Trade certificates OR has equivalent post-trade experience AND has a minimum of 3 years proven experience in estimation practices

Technical Expertise involves the ability to use systems and successfully complete tasks within given budgets and timeframes relevant to the department. Your technical expertise will encompass continuously building knowledge, keeping up to date on the technical or procedural aspects of the role, recognising trends, theory and practice of one's own technical area and effectively applying the relevant information to the role. Making yourself available to others to help solve technical or procedural issues and applying this knowledge to correctly address a situation in a timely manner also forms part of this competency area.

Autonomously develop proposals generally for complex projects and for new customers using estimation tools and procedures. In doing this, the Level 3 Senior Estimator must:

• Undertake project conceptualisation, identifying the key factors to be used as a basis for developing the proposal.

• Ensure that data is gathered from internal and external sources, quotations from suppliers, sub-contractors and labour/equipment hire companies are source and relevant internal managers/specialists are consulted and their expertise utilised.

• Ensure that all proposals incorporate costs and accepted margins for all materials, equipment, transport, internal labour and on-costs, labour hire and overheads.
